Dear supporters of IGF,

Thank you for all that you have done in changing the worlds of vulnerable children in Northern Uganda.

2020 represents the 25th year since IGF was first registered. In that time, IGF has been through many challenges and overcome many difficult times. 2020 has become a very difficult year for most and IGF is facing huge challenges also.

With the spread of COVID-19, now in Africa, our four Nursery and Primary Schools have had to close in line with the Ugandan Government’s Education Shut Down. This means we have to adapt to continue to support the vulnerable children in need. For many of our 4000 children, their only meal in a day is what IGF provides when they are in school. With school out, as per the Ugandan Government order, it will put immense pressure on families to provide the extra meals. We want to support those families and children in need by delivering food supplies to the most vulnerable children and families throughout the community.

Health and hygiene is more important than ever for the community and we are planning soap deliveries to families and keeping open our medical clinics. We are caring for the children in our Hope Children’s Home. These children range in age from 6 months to 15 year and live at IGF Kitgum, because they have no safe home to go to.

In times like these, IGF is there, supporting the most vulnerable children and their communities. We can only do this because of the support of donors and sponsors like you.

Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have had to postpone our largest annual fundraising events – our dinners in Sydney and Brisbane usually held in May and June. We rely on these fundraising events to cover the costs of our projects for several months. In addition, we have suffered from a decline in donations recently and the falling value of the Australian Dollar has meant that less funds are available in Uganda.

We urgently need supporters and donors to consider how you can partner with us at this difficult time.

Please consider carefully if you are able to assist with extra financial support and click here…..

We understand that this is a difficult time for everybody, but knowing the value of community, we will get through this together.
