The blessings overflowed on the 4th and 5th of November, as IGF’s Christian Community Church hosted a 2 day Children’s Conference together with Feed the Hungry USA, Biblica – the International Bible Society, and Feed my Starving Children.

Jesus said ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these’ – Matthew 19:14.

Over 3,000 children attended – most were from IGF’s primary schools, as well as children from a few other neighbouring primary and secondary schools. Over two days, the team of volunteers proclaimed the hope and love of Jesus. They shared stories and testimonies, gave bibles and a new ‘Reach 4 Life New Testament’, played games, prayed together with the children, and offered joy, hope and love.

The children also performed, sharing Bible stories through drama, singing songs of praise and worship, and also showcasing traditional Acholi dancing.

The awe and amazement in the eyes of the children was incredible to witness. To have thousands of children sitting eagerly listening to the presenters is not an easy feat. They soaked up the word of God, and even started to share their own testimonies of the greatness of God in their lives.

Over the two days, thousands of students received the word of God, were fed nutritious meals, and laughed and cried as they heard the Gospel preached.

On the Sunday before the conference, the ministry team also joined Christian Community Church and engaged in a range of ministry programs, including Sunday School, Hospital and Prison Ministry, and also a water baptism where 18 men and women professed to accept Christ as their personal Lord and saviour. Since then, another 25 people have registered for the next water baptism taking place this month.

There are prayers that this conference will become an annual event, and that what has been planted in the hearts and minds of the children will continue to grow and prosper. Join us as we pray that what has been started will continue to impact thousands of lives.
