A Letter from Heidi…

Heidi 1Firstly, on behalf of Irene Gleeson Foundation, I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ for your support and contributions towards IGF.

My name is Heidi, I am one of Irene Gleeson’s daughters. I take this opportunity to share with you from my recent visit to Africa, with my husband Clayton.

Our visit in July marked the second year commemoration of my mother’s passing, which was celebrated at a charity event in Kitgum with over 12000 in attendance, including government officials, people from all over Uganda and overseas visitors.

I was privileged to witness my mother honoured for her years of charitable work and the impact that IGF is having on the community. It also marked the exciting opening of the new Maternity hospital – another of my mother’s dreams.

I am proud to say IGF in Uganda is continuing strong.

During our visit I was humbled to meet the incredible IGF team. Many of them were themselves rescued out of poverty and the effects of war, have grown up and now serve in key positions as teachers, pastors and leaders with passion, dedication to see my mother’s heritage continue and forge a future for the children under IGF’s care. It was outstanding in my experience.

The vision now burns in our hearts as we begin our own journey as ambassadors, alongside Director John Paul Kiffasi and the IGF team, to serve & honour the wonderful legacy my mother has left behind.

Thank you again for your support and generosity. Our prayer is that you understand the impact that your partnership has made in Kitgum Uganda.  You, IGF supporters are a crucial part in continuing to bring Irene Gleeson Foundation into the future.

Thank you and God bless you
